Everton’s summer spending continued with the addition of Marseille forward Iliman Ndiaye on a five-year deal for an undisclosed fee. Everton have signed Marseille forward Iliman Ndiaye on a five-year deal.

The Senegal international arrives at Goodison Park for an undisclosed fee reportedly worth around £15 million after one season with the French club

.Ndiaye, 24, joined Marseille from Sheffield United last season and scored four goals in 46 games across all competitions in 2023/24.

“I am so pleased to be an Everton player,” he told evertontv on Wednesday.

“The main reasons I wanted to join were how big the club is, its history and the part I can play in helping the team in the forward direction it is going in. I’m so excited and can’t wait to get going.”

Ndiaye played a key part in Sheffield United’s promotion to the Premier League in 2022/23, scoring 14 goals and providing 11 assists before moving to Ligue 1.

He returns to England for his first proper crack at the Premier League, becoming Everton’s third summer signing following the captures of Jack Harrison and Tim Iroegbunam.

“Iliman adds versatility to our attacking options and strengthens our forward line as we look to build on the progress we made as a team last season in terms of chances created,” said Everton manager Sean Dyche.

“He is still young but has experience at European and international level and we feel he will be a really positive addition to our squad.”

Ndiaye featured regularly in Marseille’s run to the UEFA Europa League semi-finals last season, where they were beaten by eventual winners Atalanta.

He also featured at the Africa Cup of Nations with Senegal, scoring one goal in the group stage before they went out on penalties to the Ivory Coast in the last 16.

Everton’s director of football Kevin Thelwell is excited by the signing, saying: “Iliman is a player we have admired for a long time and we are delighted to bring a much sought-after player of his quality to Everton.

“We think he will excite Evertonians and give our attack a different dimension.
