It will be important to see how Everton reacts after losing 6-0 at Chelsea in the Premier League.
While the Toffees are currently out of the relegation zone, manager Sean Dyche is aware that things can yet change.
He thinks they need to perform at their peak on Sunday when they host Nottingham Forest, another struggling team, at Goodison Park.
Speaking on the outcome versus Chelsea, Dyche stated, “We can’t just park it.”
Undoubtedly, we haven’t. It had an impact on the players, and they were quite disappointed. In my capacity as manager, I was also one of them. I accept accountability.
“We discussed it with the players, and they expressed their disappointment in addition to my. However, we’ve figured it out by now, of course. But we most definitely didn’t the next day. It was difficult.
There were many “home truths” revealed, including mine regarding my expectations of the players, staff, and myself. I also had to realign and tell them that we can only succeed as a team. You are not able to do it alone.
“The players are not happy about this. I have to be clear about that. Funny thing about football these days is that people question, “Do they care?” They are concerned. They do care, I promise. I genuinely care about the goals we have set for ourselves here.
We had a conversation about it this morning to wrap things up and say, ‘Alright, that’s over. We proceed in that direction.”
