Celebration as Everton took the lead to secure a permanent deal….

BURNLEY 0-2 EVERTON: AMADOU ONANA AND MICHAEL KEANE ON TARGET AS SEAN DYCHE RETURNS TO HAUNT FORMER CLUB.

Against struggling Burnley, Everton continued their incredible run of form, making it four wins from four. The Toffees took an early lead that they would not let up thanks to goals from Michael Keane and Amadou Onana. Now managing Everton, former Clarets manager Sean Dyche made a triumphant return to Turf Moor.

The home team’s lackluster performance resulted in just one significant save from Jordan Pickford, their 13th Premier League loss of the year.
With a makeshift back three of Ben Godfrey, James Tarkowski, and Michael Keane, Everton held the hosts at a distance the entire time, recording their fourth straight clean sheet.

Everton took the lead with two goals in the first six minutes of the half. After Dwight McNeil’s corner kick was headed in by Amadou Onana, Michael Keane scored from the rebound after James Trafford had saved his first attempt.
Burnley is still six points from safety and in the relegation zone, while Everton climbs to 16th place in the standings.

From here, where might Everton’s season go? It has been a few weeks. Everton was only able to avoid the bottom of the standings by goal differential when the Premier League penalized them ten points on November 16 for breaking its financial regulations. This sent the team into the relegation zone.

As of today, December 16, Sean Dyche has led his club to four straight victories and a quick climb back up out of the bottom three. Whether Everton would have scored this run without the points deduction is irrelevant because the asterisk will remain next to their total until we hear differently. A sense of unfairness is a potent weapon.
