Everton goalkeeper Harry Tyrer has agreed a new one-year contract extension with the Club until the end of June 2026.
The 22-year-old joined the Blues aged seven, impressing throughout his years in the Academy ranks, before continuing his development out on loan.
After a promising year at Chester last season, Tyrer has been enjoying a season-long loan at Chesterfield during the 2023/24 campaign, keeping 11 clean sheets in 39 National League starts, while helping the Spireites to claim the fifth-tier title and earn promotion to League Two.
It’s fantastic news for Everton fans and Harry Tyrer alike that he’s extended his contract with the club. Tyrer’s journey from the academy to loan spells and now to securing a longer deal with his boyhood club reflects his dedication and talent as a goalkeeper.
His successful loan spells, particularly his recent achievements with Chesterfield, demonstrate his progress and potential. It’s clear that he’s gaining valuable experience and maturity in the lower leagues, which will serve him well in his career.
Tyrer’s admiration for Jordan Pickford and his aspiration to play for Everton’s senior team are admirable. Learning from a seasoned professional like Pickford can only enhance Tyrer’s development and readiness for top-level football.
The club’s decision to extend Tyrer’s contract reflects their confidence in his abilities and their commitment to nurturing young talent. With his sights set on playing at Goodison Park or the future Bramley-Moore Dock Stadium, Tyrer’s journey with Everton promises to be an exciting one for both him and the fans.
