Shock news: Detroit Lions head coach Dan Campbell just suspended his three best players due to…..

Regarding the second half of the season, Detroit Lions head coach Dan Campbell gave a message to his squad.

After placing starting defensive lineman Alim McNeill on injured reserve, the Detroit Lions have a large void at defensive line. However, an insider says they will make up part of the difference by signing a standout practice squad player who has been referred to as a “mountain” of a player.

Following his sprained knee injury in the team’s victory over the New Orleans Saints on December 3, McNeill will be placed on injured reserve, the team announced on Tuesday. McNeill’s injury will keep him out of the game for at least the next four weeks, which is a major setback for a defense already beset by injuries. McNeill was having a career-best season, totaling 31 tackles and five sacks.

However, in order to provide some veteran depth, Mike Payton of Oz Sports suggested that the Lions would soon add Quinton Bohanna to the active roster.

Bohanna has played 20 or more snaps in each of the last three games, as mentioned by Payton, and has been elevated by the Lions. If the organization hopes to employ Bohanna again this season, they will have to add him to the active roster as they have already used up their allotted three practice squad promotions.

“You would think that some trust has grown there and that the Lions want to maybe keep seeing where this goes after three regular season games and two starts in a row,” Payton wrote. Especially since McNeill will be sidelined for the minimum of the next four games. They will need to add Bohanna on the active roster if they want him to participate.

Payton mentioned that the Lions might make the change on Saturday, when they have to complete any changes that include elevating any members of the practice squad. That will result in the release of another player from the active roster; Payton mentioned that Chase Lucas or Steven Gilmore would be the most likely candidates.

The Dallas Cowboys selected the 24-year-old Bohanna in the sixth round of the 2021 NFL Draft. He made 14 appearances in his rookie season, including one start. In his second season, Bohanna’s role expanded as he participated in 13 games, starting nine of them, and recorded 20 tackles, including three for a loss and two quarterback pressures.
