Sad news: Detroit Lion QB Jared Goff have been just fired minutes ago due to….

ALLEN PARK — After maybe his worst start of the year, Jared Goff is coming off a difficult stretch for the Detroit Lions and their potent offense.

In the 28-13 defeat to the Chicago Bears last week, Goff completed 161 yards of passing for a season low. He completed one exquisite touchdown pass to Josh Reynolds in the end zone and one tight-window dime pass to Donovan Peoples-Jones on a fourth-down pass. However, he lost a fumble on a snap (with Graham Glasgow) and threw two more interceptions while attempting a valiant comeback.

However, more than just the rise in turnovers raises concerns. It was the wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown’s second consecutive extremely quiet day, and the timing appeared off from the start in Chicago. The Sun God’s quietest two-game span since his debut season two years ago saw him limited to just three receptions for 21 yards.

In Week 14, Goff also received his lowest ratings of the year from the people at Pro Football Focus. It was clear that this Lions offense would have a difficult day ahead of it when St. Brown and him were the two offensive players with the lowest grades. While the Bears attempted to shut down the middle of the field, the New Orleans Saints threw more men at St. Brown, forcing Goff to the sideline and downfield.

Goff remarked of St. Brown, “Yeah, you’d love to get him going.” “I believe he’s doing a fantastic job. He’s been really honest about the things he thinks he can do better, and I’ve been talking to him a lot about how I want to try to help him and get the ball in some ways a little bit better than we have in the past few weeks.

We’ll wrap out this season quite nicely, and he’s one of the best individuals I’ve ever been around, so I have no qualms about his well-being.
