Fromm was drafted by the Buffalo Bills in the fifth round of the 2020 NFL Draft. His rookie season was unique, as he served as the team’s “quarantine quarterback” during the COVID-19 pandemic. This role required him to practice separately from the rest of the roster to be ready in case the team’s other quarterbacks were sidelined due to illness.

Though he didn’t see game action that year, Fromm remained an important depth player. The following season, the New York Giants signed him off Buffalo’s practice squad. During the 2021 campaign, Fromm appeared in three games and started two, completing 27 of 60 passes for 210 yards, with one touchdown and three interceptions.
