Following the completion of his two-game NFL suspension, Denver Broncos safety Kareem Jackson has been activated off the reserve/suspended list, the team announced on Tuesday.

The Broncos made a matching roster move by waiving defensive tackle Keondre Coburn, whom they intend to re-sign to the practice squad.

The league first punished Jackson for four games due to its needless roughness regulations. Due to a dubious hit on Packers tight end Luke Musgrave in Denver’s Week 7 victory over Green Bay, the penalty was reduced in half after an appeal. Jackson was punished the next day and disqualified from the competition for the duration of it.

Jackson, whose violent style of play has earned him a reputation for head-hunting, was fined over $90,000 four consecutive times for illegal hits before he was ejected. After accounting for the two returned game checks, Jackson’s 2023 compensation of $2.515 million was reduced by $279,444.

On October 23, Broncos coach Sean Payton stated of the player, “He’s someone who’s smart and truly wants to do the right thing.” “For the players, officials, and those of us engaged in making it plain and simple, it’s one of the hardest aspects of our game. Sometimes, it simply isn’t.

Jackson may now warm up and get dressed for the game against the scorching Minnesota Vikings on Sunday night. The timing of his comeback is perfect because Broncos S PJ Locke injured his ankle in Week 10. Locke had been starting opposite Justin Simmons in lieu of Jackson.

Throughout 406 defensive snaps this season, 14-year-old veteran Jackson has racked up 30 solo tackles, three pass deflections, and two interceptions.
