The New Orleans Saints started the season strong with two wins but have since dropped three consecutive games.
Their offense was dominant against the Carolina Panthers and Dallas Cowboys, scoring over 40 points in both matchups. However, sustaining such high offensive output is difficult, and the Saints have since cooled off.
In recent games, they scored only 12 points against the Philadelphia Eagles and 13 against the Kansas City Chiefs.
With this downturn, the Saints might be exploring roster adjustments to get back on track. As Aaron Wilson noted on X, the team recently held workouts for several players, including Alex Cook, Roderick Teamer Jr., A.J. Thomas, and Tracy Walker III. Hosting workouts is always a smart move, as a valuable contributor could emerge later in the season.
Although they’re unlikely to sign a starter from these workouts, the Saints could add some depth.
Injuries are inevitable in the NFL, making roster depth essential.
Every team deals with injuries, and when they do, having reliable backups is key. The Saints may be preparing for this by holding these workouts, hoping to discover a player who can make an impact during the second half of the season.
