Tyron Smith Retirement Rumors? Cowboys Meet Today To Re-Sign Future Hall-of-Famer.

Tyron Smith, an All-Pro left tackle, is not intending to retire before the 2024 season, as the Dallas Cowboys had previously stated.

However, that does not mean they won’t lose the future Hall of Famer to free agency. For this reason, the team has already started the process of re-signing the outstanding 33-year-old. The team has a number of pending free agents in addition to hoping to extend the contracts of its key players. Tyron Smith, their longtime outstanding left tackle, is set to enter free agency. This is the biggest news

“We’ll be having a media visit at the NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis, where we’ll sit down with him and discuss what it looks like for him to stay here.

As of right now, ESPN is claiming that a meeting regarding Tyron is on the schedule for Dallas, which is currently in Indianapolis talking with some agents.

Throughout his 13 seasons with the Cowboys, Smith has consistently performed at a high level while healthy. He has eight Pro Bowl choices and five All-Pro selections, making him arguably the best left tackle of his generation. For the 2023 season, he was most recently selected as a second-team All-Pro.

Health concerns are legitimately concerning, even though his 13 games in 2023 represent a high point over the previous five years.

Tyron’s market value, if one had to guess, would be $7 million for a one-year contract. That sounds low to us, but Smith’s genuinely familial bond with the Joneses may facilitate the creation of a mutually beneficial agreement, as was the case when Smith chose to stay in Dallas a year ago despite taking a pay cut.

Must he expose himself to potential bidders? The Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs are rumored to be interested.

But first, what? Tyron needs to sit down with the Cowboys.
