Several cyclists were seriously injured in a crash in Cambridgeshire on Thursday (July 18). Police and paramedics were called to the scene near Elsworth with reports of a crash involving a car and five cyclists.
The crash happened on Conington Road at around 7pm. Five ambulances, two Hazardous Area Response Team Vehicles, an ambulance officer vehicle and East Anglian Air Ambulance attended the scene after receiving reports of multiple cyclists injured in a crash.
An East of England Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “Three patients were transported to Added Brooke’s Hospital by road ambulance and a further three patients were transported by road ambulance to Hunching BrookeHospital. A number of the injuries sustained were serious.”
