Stage 15 of the 2024 Giro d’Italia was a mammoth and gruelling test for the riders, but not for the imperious Tadej Pogacar, who breezed up every climb and ended up clinching a famous triumph to further extend his lead at the top of the general classification. There was just no stopping Pogacar as he again stamped his authority on proceedings and dominated his rivals in a ruthless fashion.
Eurosport’s experts were left absolutely stunned by the brilliance of Tadej Pogacar as he powered to a quite incredible victory on Stage 15 of the Giro D’Italia on Sunday.
The 25-year-old already held a commanding position in the general classification, but that did not deter him from giving absolutely everything to win a stage that most riders were simply hoping to survive before Monday’s rest day.
Speaking on Eurosport’s Breakaway post-stage show, Dan Lloyd, Adam Blythe and Robbie McEwen raved about the “unbelievable” exploits of the Slovenian on what was supposed to be a challenging day’s racing, even for him.
“That was just,” Lloyd began. “The gap he opened up within a kiloetre of attacking, it was just a man on a different level to everyone else in the race.
“I’m not even sure that was the plan for UAE Team Emirates. It’s been years we have been watching these exploits from Tadej Pogacar and you are still astounded when you see him do it again.
“It is just next-level stuff, and it is unbelievable to watch.”

Blythe added: “He is just unreal. There is not much more you can say about him. We are getting lost for words, and it is really hard to appreciate and understand how good that man actually is.
“He is on his own here, and because of the level that he is at, he is just a lot better than everyone else.
“He is getting better and better and is turning into an absolute beast. He is a machine.”
McEwen weighed in by saying: “He just takes it apart. We are running out of superlatives. He just keeps going and going and his appetite is never satisfied.
“He says that he wants to be the greatest of all time, and that was a cannibalistic approach to the stage.
“It is thrilling, and I’m sure for every Tadej Pogar fan, they are in absolute ecstasy.”
