Crystal Palace midfielder Eberechi Eze will be sidelined for the next few weeks due to an ankle ligament injury sustained during their recent match against Luton. The injury occurred when Eze tangled with Luton’s Gabriel Osho, resulting in immediate discomfort for the England international. Palace manager Roy Hodgson expressed frustration post-match over the incident, highlighting the severity of Eze’s injury and the lack of punishment for the challenge.
Although Eze attempted to continue playing in the second half, he was ultimately substituted early on. This setback adds to Eze’s recent injury struggles, as he had just returned from a month-long absence due to a hamstring injury. The timing is unfortunate, as Eze missed England’s crucial matches during the international break and now faces uncertainty regarding his place in the squad due to ongoing injury issues.
With a busy schedule ahead for Palace, including multiple league games in December, Hodgson will be hoping for a swift recovery for Eze, especially considering the absence of Cheick Doucoure due to injury as well.
