“Manchester City completes signing £35m of Crystal Palace striker Olise, who departs the club this…..

Despite reports of Chelsea activating a £35m release clause for French Under-21 international Olise, Palace chairman Steve Parish confirmed the 21-year-old London-born player would remain at the club. Olise, who joined Palace from Reading in 2021, had previously been part of Chelsea’s youth setup. Palace manager Roy Hodgson expressed his hope that Olise would recognize the bright future awaiting him at Palace and the potential for growth there. Despite recovering from a hamstring injury sustained while playing for France in the European Under-21 Championship, Olise had an impressive 2022-23 season with Palace, earning the club’s Player of the Year award with 11 assists and two goals in 37 appearances.

Meanwhile, Chelsea’s significant spending continued with the signings of Moises Caicedo and Romeo Lavia, raising questions about their adherence to financial regulations. Palace, on the other hand, lost Wilfried Zaha but started the new season under manager Ross Hodgson with a 1-0 win away at Sheffield United.
