The Palace star made the move to south London in the summer of 2021 and registered ten goals in 19 appearances during an injury-affected 2023–24 season.
Olise’s future at Bayern has prompted Chelsea to rethink their options on the wing, with Aston Villa’s Omari Kellyman edging close to a move to Stamford Bridge, as per Fabrizio Romano.
Bayern, however, will have to make room for Olise in their talented squad, with both Leroy Sane and Serge Gnabry already offering options on the right wing. His signing will add more depth to the attack but may indicate a sale for another established player.
The German giants will hope to regain the Bundesliga title from Bayer Leverkusen when they return to the league for the 2024–25 season, while Olise will look to claim his first piece of silverware.
The Blues are chasing a number of new attacking signings this summer and initially focused on Olise, holding talks with both the Frenchman and Palace in the hope of winning the race for his signature.
Chelsea are said to have made their “strongest offer,” but they believe the finances required to sign Olise were excessive and have decided against pursuing an agreement.
Instead, Olise has agreed to join Bayern Munich, who were granted permission to speak to the Frenchman and are expected to agree to a deal with Crystal Palace in the coming days.
Chelsea are also believed to want a new winger but will have to decide on a new priority target after deciding against advancing their interest in Olise.
However, any signing would have to factor in the impending arrivals of South American starlets Estevao and Kendry Paez, both of whom will head to Stamford Bridge in the summer of 2025 for big fees.
Chelsea plans to reward their current players rather than hand big sums to new signings, but they still intend to make some new signings to bolster Enzo Maresca’s attack.
