Kofi Balmer: AFC Wimbledon sign Crystal Palace defender on loan.

Kofi Balmer, a center-back for Crystal Palace, has been loaned to AFC Wimbledon.

The 23-year-old former Under-21 international for Northern Ireland has signed a contract to join the League Two team until the end of the current campaign.

Balmer made 16 appearances while on loan at League One team Port Vale during the first half of this season.

Prior to joining Palace in the summer of 2022, he competed in the highest division in Northern Ireland. He has not yet appeared in an Eagles first-team match.

According to Dons manager Johnnie Jackson, “Kofi is a young, aggressive defender who likes to play on the front foot.” The player is an attacking midfielder.

“He also has the advantage of League One experience and was really keen to be a part of what we’re doing.”
