The summer transfer window opens in just over a week but already Crystal Palace hasn’t wasted any time sorting deals out. Already Oliver Glasner is being backed with two players thought to be on the verge of completing a move to Selhurst Park this summer
Chadi Riad looks likely to be the first signing of the summer, with the Moroccan Centre-back already having completed his medical ahead of a £14m move this summer. Closely following this deal, it looks set that Daichi Kamada will be arrival number two under Glasner and happens to be a player the Austrian knows very well.
But with several other players being targeted including some expensive ones, Palace will need to sell, and now the asking price has been set for one player the club will be happy to see leave.
One player who has long been considered a likely exit from Selhurst Park this summer is Oddone Edouard after he has fallen down the pecking order at Copers Cope this season.
Despite once being described by Chris Sutton as a “stunning” player, Edouard has struggled to get much game time since Glasner arrived at the club with Jean-Philippe Mateta finding a rich vein of form.
The 26-year-old Frenchman has therefore emerged as a likely sale this summer to fund moves to strengthen the club.
In order to replace Edouard, Palace will be keen on making sure it’s an upgrade which would allow Mateta to be adequately supported.
One option is Arsenal’s Eddie Nketia who is a target for Palace with £30m the fee required to take him away from the Emirates this summer.
Reports have also drawn Palace with interest in Elijah Adebayo as he has proven his ability in the Premier League and after Luton Town’s relegation, he could be looking for a move.
A third potential arrival is Stade Reims’ Oumar Diakite who was linked earlier this year as having interest from the Eagles.
