A senior journalist has confirmed that Arsenal is one of several teams tracking a Crystal Palace star ahead of a potential transfer this summer.
Another journalist has now confirmed that Arsenal hold genuine interest in an exciting Crystal Palace forward, and that the Gunners are contemplating a potential move for him this summer.
Rumours linking Eberechi Eze with a move to Arsenal are not new, but have recently become far more substantiated and constant, as it looks increasingly possible that the Gunners could swoop in for the Crystal Palace man in the summer transfer window.
Eze reportedly has a release clause in his contract with the Eagles, which is worth a reported £60m (€71m), meaning that little negotiation would be required other than agreeing terms with the player’s camp and finalising payment.
The latest confirmation of Arsenal’s interest in Eze has come from The Guardian’s Ed Aarons, who also confirmed that there are several clubs tracking the star.
Arsenal’s fierce North London rivals, Tottenham Hotspur, as well as the reigning Premier League champions, Manchester City, are reported to be among those also vying for Eze’s signature.
Eze caught the eye for Crystal Palace last season, scoring 11 goals and assisting a further four across 27 Premier League appearances, during a season that saw him deal with injury issues at times.
The 26-year old’s fine form saw him rewarded with a place in England’s Euro 2024 squad, where he has so far made three cameo appearances from the bench.
Arsenal fans have reacted very positively to this news, with one saying on X (formerly Twitter): “Eze absolutely yes yes and more yes. This guy in the left 8/10 suffocating teams alongside Odegaard is going to be classy. I’m a massive, massive fan of Eze.”
