In place of Brian Callahan, the Cincinnati Bengals have found a replacement.
Dan Pitcher, the quarterbacks coach, is supposedly the next offensive coordinator for the Bengals, following Callahan’s official hiring by the Titans on the same day.
Ian Rapoport of NFL Network revealed the initial news. It’s unknown who will replace Pitcher as the quarterbacks coach or whether Pitcher will stay in that role.
Pitcher, a 37-year-old Cortland, New York native, joined the Bengals in 2016. In 2018, he began working with quarterbacks after previously working with wide receivers. After joining the Bengals in 2019, he remained on Zac Taylor’s staff and was elevated to the position of quarterbacks coach in 2020.
Twitter is raving over Dan Pitcher’s Bengals appointment to offensive coordinator.
Were the Bengals correctly to promote Dan Pitcher?
Before joining Cincinnati in 2012, Pitcher was a scout for the Indianapolis Colts from 2012 to 2015, where he was employed by head coach Marvin Lewis.
Pitcher previously served as the Division III State University of New York at Cortland’s wide receivers coach in 2012—the same institution where he was a quarterback during his college career.
Pitcher had previously attended Cortland High School. From 2006 to 2008, he played collegiately at Colgate University. After that, he proceeded to SUNY Cortland, where he studied from 2009 to 2011.
And thus concludes the Bengals’ initial coordinator hunt since hiring Zac Taylor in 2019. Pitcher was mostly anticipated to be selected by the Bengals, despite the fact that other clubs expressed interest and were allowed to speak with him during the two days that it lasted.
Sources claim that the #Bengals have hired QBs coach Dan Pitcher as their offensive coordinator, which is a natural pick to replace OC Brian Callahan.
The work he did with Jake Browning and Joe Burrow was particularly noteworthy. He was the most well-liked OC, along with Zac Robinson. tweet.com/ODh04VPcjj
