Sad News: Chicago Blackhawks head coach Luke Richardson just fired minutes ago by Chicago Blackhawks owner due to……

After recording their first win, Chicago has dropped their last two games and let up a league-high 47 goals.

“We have not succeeded in building an elite hockey system, which is our on-ice goal,” Davidson stated in a statement. “The truth is that we need to get better at playing and competing. Each and every match, each and every shift. The coaching changes of today are challenging, particularly in light of the remarkable personal relationships that Jeremy and others have developed with our players.

“We appreciate Jeremy’s contributions to the organization over the last three seasons, and we wish him and his family the best.”

The choice was made one day following a perplexing effort that ended in a 5-1 loss to the Winnipeg Jets.In his debut season with the team, Marc-Andre Fleury made 28 saves but gave up numerous dubious goals in front of a defense that was prone to errors.

Following the defeat, Colliton remarked, “The stretch we’ve been going through has been hard on the players.” It gets to you because there have been some excellent performances that we haven’t received recognition for. There’s not a justification. With the kind of performance, we put on tonight, we can’t give ourselves a chance to prevail. However, all we can do is go on to the next one, emerge energized and competitive, and do better.”

It’s obvious that the Blackhawks’ ownership agreed that it was time to move on.

“It has been an extremely difficult couple of weeks for our organization, and we have had to come to terms with a number of necessary changes,” Danny Wirtz, our chief executive officer, stated. We are appreciative of the community’s support as we strive to regain our supporters’ trust, which is something we know we must accomplish in order to go forward. We value everything that Jeremy has contributed to the Blackhawks, and as we strive to assemble a new permanent hockey operations leadership group, we are excited to collaborate with Derek as our head coach in the meantime.”

King, who was promoted from AHL Rockford, will make his United Center debut on Sunday when the Blackhawks take on the Nashville Predators. The 54-year-old made 830 appearances in his career after being selected in the first round by the New York Islanders in the 1985 NHL Entry Draft.
