The Chicago Bears are facing multiple injuries in their secondary ahead of their season opener.

Starting cornerbacks Jaylon Johnson and Kyler Gordon are both listed as questionable for the game.

Johnson is dealing with a groin injury, while Gordon has a hamstring issue.

If Johnson and Gordon cannot play, Tyrique Stevenson, Nahshon Wright, and Nick McCloud are potential replacements.

 

The Chicago Bears are gearing up for their Week 1 opener against the Minnesota Vikings on Monday Night Football, and they’re hoping they’ll have two of their top defensive players in cornerbacks Jaylon Johnson and Kyler Gordon at their disposal.

 

Chicago has been bitten by the injury bug at cornerback dating back to the summer, when Johnson suffered a groin injury before training camp and Gordon was dealing with a hamstring injury near the end of the summer. Key reserve Terell Smith suffered a season-ending knee injury and another reserve and core special teamer, Josh Blackwell, is currently battling a groin injury.

Jaylon Johnson, Kyler Gordon injury updates

The Bears are banged up in the secondary with their top cornerbacks Jaylon Johnson and Kyler Gordon currently dealing with injuries. Johnson suffered a groin injury before training camp, and it held him out for the entire summer. He did participate, albeit in limited fashion, during practice all week and he’s officially questionable. Meanwhile, Gordon had been dealing with a hamstring injury that held him out of the end of preseason. He was a late addition to the injury report on Sunday, and he’s questionable
