Burnley’s manager, Vincent Kompany, has received a two-match touchline suspension from the FA due to his red card incident during last month’s match against Chelsea. The red card was issued during Burnley’s 2-2 draw at Chelsea on March 30, following Kompany’s protests against a penalty decision that led to defender Lorenz Assignor also being sent off.

According to a statement from the Football Association, Kompany must serve a one-game ban immediately, with another match suspended until the end of the year. Additionally, he has been fined £10,000. The FA stated that Kompany admitted to misconduct during the 40th minute of the fixture, including improper, abusive, or insulting language towards a match official, or questioning the integrity of a match official.

Kompany, who spent 11 seasons as a player for Manchester City, expressed regret for his actions and apologized to referee Darren England for his choice of words after his dismissal at Stamford Bridge. Despite his suspension, he will be watching Burnley’s upcoming match against Brighton from the stands.
