Done Deal: Burnley made signs contract with defender…

Burnley make €12m offer to sign center-back – Clarets ‘close’ to securing transfer as amount meets club’s demands.

According to sources from France, Burnley has made an offer for Maxime Esteve, a defender for Montpellier.

The Clarets are reportedly “close” to signing the 21-year-old after putting €12 million on the table for his services, according to L’Equipe.

Burnley and Esteve had been in talks for some time, and this bid is reportedly in line with what the Ligue 1 team was hoping to get out of the deal.

They also make clear that the Turf Moor offer includes bonuses worth €2 million and 15% of any future transfers; if the center-back performs well under Vincent Kompany, the French team may end up with even more money in the future.

Montpellier, who are set to make one of the top 10 transfers in club history, seems to be getting a decent deal on this.

They might even benefit from it as the team looks to add one or two players before the market shuts down at the end of the transfer window.

Esteve came via Montpellier’s development system and was called up to the first team in 2021. Having made 60 appearances for the team, Transformer values him at €7 million.

We should now wait for further information to find out if Burnley’s offer is being accepted by the team.
