Burnley transfer target available one on condition – Club want clause included in any deal.
Carlos Forbs is only available for Burnley to sign this month on loan from Ajax if they accept the inclusion of a purchase clause in the contract.
Journalist Mike Verweij, cited by Soccer News, claims that if Ajax allows the winger to depart this month, they want to make sure they receive compensation for him in the summer.
Forbs arrived at the Dutch powerhouses from Manchester City in a €14 million move, although he has only played in 38% of the league’s available minutes thus far, showing little signs of success in the first squad.
This has given rise to rumors that he would be traded this month and that the Premier League is interested in him. Earlier this week, it was revealed that Burnley had inquired about a possible trade for him.
According to reports, they were considering a loan for the 19-year-old, giving him playing time until the end of the season as Vincent Kompany tries to improve his team in preparation for their Premier League relegation fight.
Verweij says there’s a possibility, but for it to happen, Burnley has to consent to the deal’s requirement that it purchase Forbs in the summer.
He stated on the Kick-Off show, “There are even five clubs for Forbs of which Nottingham Forest is not serious at all.”
“They’re not quite that solid yet. Ajax is still having trouble with it. He is not someone Ajax wants to hire out.
“Ajax will only rent him in the event that a buy option is required. Thus, they would only desire that if they are certain he will take home the grand reward come summertime.
“That is still astounding: Ajax will also receive their purchase money back for Forbs, even though everyone can see that those players aren’t working.”
