Burnley announce appointment of Vincent Kompany as new manager.

Burnley’s new manager is Vincent Kompany, a former captain of Manchester City. The 36-year-old former Belgium international left his position as Anderlecht’s head coach in May after three years in that role.

“It is an honor to be appointed first-team manager of Burnley Football Club, a truly historic English side,” said Kompany. Mike Jackson, the interim manager who succeeded Sean Dyche in April, could not keep the team from being demoted to the Championship. “I’m eager to take on the challenge. When we return to Turf Moor, I’m excited to work with the players and build a winning team for our supporters.

“The board’s vision for the club is impressive and aligns with my own. I look forward to contributing to the team as we embark on a significant season.”

Over his illustrious 11-year tenure at City, Kompany guided the team to four Premier League crowns, two FA Cups, and four League Cups.
