Breaking News:Bills OC Is Competing Jim Harbaugh and Bill Belichick for…

In a few months, Joe Brady might be in line for his second big job promotion.

The offensive coordinator for the Buffalo Bills, who took over in November after the removal of Ken Dorsey by the organization, may be joining the competition for a prominent coaching position. The Atlanta Falcons asked for permission to interview Brady for their head coaching position, according to Jonathan Jones of CBS Sports.

The Falcons have previously interviewed a number of well-known players, including Jim Harbaugh of Michigan and Bill Belichick of the New England Patriots. Brady might have an advantage over the other candidates despite appearing like a long shot given his affiliation with the team.Brady gained notoriety as LSU’s passing game coordinator in 2019, according to NBC Sports, when the team won a national title behind Joe Burrow, the winner of the Heisman Trophy. After working as offensive coordinator for the Carolina Panthers in 2020 and taking a job as quarterbacks coach with the Bills in 2022, Brady eventually took over as offensive coordinator following the firing of Brian Dorsey.

As Jones pointed out, the Falcons have previously interviewed Brady for the head coaching position in 2021 before choosing Arthur Smith. Therefore, this is not the first time the team has looked at Brady. Brady will have to separate himself from a talented group of coaches, which includes Belichick, if he hopes to get the job this time.

The NBC Sports report noted that the Falcons had carried out interviews with the following teams: Ravens defensive coordinator Mike Macdonald, Panthers defensive coordinator Ejiro Evero, Bengals offensive coordinator Brian Callahan, Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh, Eagles offensive coordinator Brian Johnson, Ravens assistant head coach/defensive line coach Anthony Weaver, and 49ers defensive coordinator Steve Wilks.

Brady has a busy week ahead of him as the Bills get ready for their third playoff game against the Kansas City Chiefs in all four previous seasons, even though it was unclear when or if he would interview for Atlanta’s job opportunity.

After firing Dorsey, the Bills have experienced a significant upturn in performance. The Bills dropped to 6-6 after losing to the Philadelphia Eagles in overtime, but they have since won six straight games to make it to the divisional round for the fourth consecutive year.
