Anthony Crolla believes that Gabriel Dossen, whom he describes as a “complete package,” is on his way to becoming a world star.
The talented fighter from Galway recently announced his transition to professional boxing, officially leaving behind his amateur vest earlier this month.
As the first high-profile athlete of the new Olympic cycle to turn pro, Dossen has signed a management agreement with David McGinley and Project Boxing, which is co-led by former World Champion Crolla and media expert Dominic McGuinness.
Promoters are now vying for the signature of the European gold medalist, and Irish-boxing.com reports that several offers are currently on the table.
Crolla predicts that whoever secures Dossen will be acquiring a fighter with the potential to become a world champion and more. He stated, “Gabriel is the complete package—he has the talent, the drive, and the personality to become a major name in world boxing. The competition for his signature is fierce, and rightfully so. We’re excited to guide him through this pivotal moment in his career.”
McGinley, who also manages Mayo fighter Eoin Lavin, shared his enthusiasm for Dossen’s prospects, saying, “Gabriel is an exceptional talent with the potential to achieve greatness. We’re in the final stages of securing a promotional deal that will provide him with the platform to excel in the professional ranks. The interest from top UK and US promoters reflects his reputation as a future star.”
The 24-year-old plans to train primarily at Olympic OL throughout the year but will complete his training camps in England with Crolla.
