Montgomery, the former head coach of the Dallas Stars, is set to sign a three-year deal worth approximately $2 million annually. A former NHL player describes Montgomery as an excellent coach and person, indicating a positive reception within the hockey community. Montgomery’s tenure in Dallas ended prematurely due to off-ice issues, but he has since taken steps to address them, including entering rehab for alcohol abuse.
