Due to a knee strain, first baseman Vladimir Guerrero Jr. will not be starting for the Baltimore Orioles in Sunday’s split-squad game, manager John Schneider informed reporters, via MLB.com’s Keegan Matheson.

Schneider stated that no tests are required because the harm is mild. Guerrero is thought to have sustained the injury when sliding for a ball in foul area during the Philadelphia Phillies game on Saturday.

The 24-year-old led the Jays to a 13-5 victory in the afternoon after going 1-for-3 with two runs drove in. Guerrero has played in seven games this spring, batting.368 with one home run and four RBI.

Guerrero had his best season yet last year, batting.264/.345/.444, with 26 home runs and 94 RBI in 156 games—his sixth with Toronto.

On March 28, the Blue Jays take on the Rays in Tampa to begin the regular season.
