**AUSTIN, Texas** — John Clark, a consensus top-50 national high school prospect from Houston, Texas, has signed an Athletic Scholarship Agreement (ASA) to play basketball at The University of Texas, head coach Rodney Terry announced on Wednesday.
Clark, a 6-foot-9, 230-pound forward currently playing at Link Academy in Branson, Missouri, is ranked as the No. 37 overall prospect in the nation for the class of 2025 by 247 Sports Composite, No. 38 by On3, No. 40 by ESPN, No. 42 by Rivals, and No. 45 by 247 Sports. He previously played at Klein Cain High School in Klein, Texas, during his freshman to junior years.
“John Clark offers a unique combination of finesse and power on the court, along with the versatility needed to thrive in the SEC,” said Blue Zertuche, a recruiting analyst for the Great American Shoot-Out. “He has a soft touch around the rim but isn’t afraid to play physically when necessary. His skill set has improved steadily in recent years, and competing against top-tier SEC talent will only accelerate his development and help refine his game even further.”
Clark earned All-Adidas Performer honors during the 2024 Adidas 3SSB circuit while playing for T.J. Ford Elite.
In the 2023-24 season, Clark averaged 17.8 points and 13.1 rebounds per game, shooting 61% from the field. He led all players in Texas’ Class 6A in rebounds per game and double-doubles (22). Clark helped lead Klein Cain to the first round of the 2024 UIL Class 6A state tournament and earned a spot on the All-Greater Houston Boys Basketball second team, as selected by the Houston Chronicle.
