Breaking News: Ryder Frost and Tommy Ahneman Commit to the Irish…

Some of this news is from last week, and some is fresh, so we’ve combined it into one exciting update on the Notre Dame Fighting Irish men’s basketball program. After securing commitments from Brady Koehler and Jalen Haralson, ND added 2025 4-star forward Ryder Frost on Friday, choosing ND over schools like Michigan, Wisconsin, and Virginia Tech. Frost, a 6’6″ sharpshooter, brings great offensive potential, though he may need to improve defensively

Continuing their momentum, ND landed 4-star center Tommy Ahneman on Monday. The 6’10”, 235-lb big man from Minnesota committed after visiting the Irish and adds much-needed size to the roster. Ranked as the #1 player in Minnesota, Ahneman is praised for his post skills and touch but will need to grow defensively.

With these additions, ND now boasts the top-ranked recruiting class, a remarkable turnaround. The Irish may still add more talent, with top-50 point guard Kayden Mingo and 4-star PF Tre Singleton in the mix. While development is key, this recruiting success could propel ND back into tournament contention in the coming years.

Welcome to Ryder and Tommy, and here’s to continued growth for Coach Micah Shrewsberry’s squad!
