A footballer suffered a broken knee after a brutal assault by masked attackers armed with baseball bats and other weapons following an intense match.
Joel Collins, a 32-year-old goalkeeper from Wales, endured what police are describing as “life-changing” injuries during this violent incident. Collins’ team, Avenue Hotspur FC, had just lost 3-1 to Llanrumney Athletic in a Cardiff & District Football League Division 1 game when the violence broke out on Saturday afternoon outside the locker rooms at Eastern Leisure Centre in Llanrumney.
