Breaking News: The former head coach of the Atlanta Braves and his wife recently finalized their divorce…..

Jones’ spouse seeks for divorce following a reported assault

According to a court record, the wife of former Atlanta Braves great Andruw Jones filed for divorce around a week after she claimed he had grabbed her neck and declared his intention to murder her.

The 10-year marriage of Nicole Jones is described as “irretrievably damaged” in the divorce case that was submitted on Monday to a suburban Atlanta court. The Christmas morning altercation that resulted in Nicole Jones calling the police and Andruw Jones being taken into custody on a battery charge is not mentioned in the complaint.

John Mayoue, Nicole Jones’ attorney, declined to comment on Wednesday. It wasn’t immediately apparent if Andruw Jones had legal representation.

According to the lawsuit, Nicole Jones is requesting primary and shared legal custody of the couple’s 9-year-old son. She is requesting half of the couple’s assets, alimony, and child support. She also requests that their prenuptial agreement be ruled void by the court.

Nicole Jones requested her husband to help prepare their home for Christmas morning, which led to a fight that broke out at 1:30 a.m. on December 25, according to a Gwinnett County police report. According to the complaint, she attempted to walk upstairs, but her husband grabbed her by the ankle and pulled her down a flight of steps. According to the complaint, he went on top of her and shouted, “I want to kill you.”

He was drunk, so she was able to shove him away, and she went to her parents’ house after that, according to the story.

Her neck was determined to have injuries, according to the police, who took pictures as proof.

Jones looked to have passed out in his clothes and was puzzled about what had happened, according to the cops who confronted him in a bedroom when they arrived at his home in the Sugarloaf Country Club in Duluth.

Andruw Jones was released on bail following his arrest, according to Gwinnett County jail records.

Jones earlier this month agreed to a one-year, $3.5 million contract with the Pacific League team Tohoku Rakuten Golden Eagles in Japan.
