A second head coach of the Atlanta Braves is heading west.
ATLANTA — An additional member of the Atlanta Braves coaching staff has announced his intention to sign with the Los Angeles Angels.
The Braves’ first base coach, Eric Young Sr., announced that he will be joining the Angels as their third base coach.
Young stated, “It was a difficult choice, and I’m going to miss the organization and, more importantly, the players and fans.”
About Young’s appointment to the coaching staff, the Angels have not yet released a statement.
The 56-year-old Young has been a member of the Braves coaching staff since 2018 and guided the team to a 2021 World Series victory.
After third base coach Ron Washington said he will take over as manager of the Angels, he is the second member of the Braves coaching staff to announce their resignation this week.
