Braves: Alex Anthopoulos on not trading for jerks.
Despite all of the flaws Liberty Media appeared to have a few years ago, their organizational structure has allowed them to truly become one of the best sports organizations.
Arguably the greatest new ballpark to watch a baseball game is Truist Park. Both inside the stadium and at The Battery, the atmosphere is unparalleled. Since its launch in 2017, it has been an overwhelming success, and while attendance records fall year after year, the payroll keeps rising to all-time highs. Ownership is showing their commitment to transparency, but maybe more significantly, they have fully delegated control to Alex Anthopoulos to pull all the strings.
Anthopoulos has hit all the right notes since joining the company in the winter of 2017. Six consecutive NL East championships and a World Series in the trophy cabinet have been the outcomes. Even better, there doesn’t seem to be any slowdown in the success. When it comes to the draft, nurturing young players, team-friendly transactions, and surprise signings, Anthopoulos seems to be unstoppable. The entire organization fully trusts him, and as Spencer Strider stated over the weekend, anyone who continues to have doubts about him is simply not paying attention.
