The boxing contest between Anthony Joshua and Francis Ngannou was postponed until April.

Another big boxing bout is scheduled for Francis Ngannou, the former heavyweight champion of the UFC.

Ngannou will take on two-time world heavyweight boxing champion Anthony Joshua this time. March 9 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, is scheduled for the 10-round heavyweight bout.

Following a statement from Turki Alalshikh, Saudi Arabia’s head of general authority for entertainment, via Ariel Helwani, MMA Junkie verified the booking and date.

A press conference announcing the bout is scheduled for January 15 in London.

Early in 2023, Ngannou (0-1) announced his departure from the UFC and entry into the boxing ring. Ngannou disproved the doubters by landing a professional battle against Tyson Fury, despite the fact that many others did not think a huge “money fight” was possible.

Despite the split decision loss, Ngannou’s competitive effort and Fury’s knockout won him recognition and admiration from a variety of combat sports groups. Even more viewers stated that they believed Ngannou had prevailed in the bout.

Ngannou, 37, will now try again to get his maiden victory against Joshua (27-3), a competitor from the United Kingdom who last fought on December 23 and defeated Otto Wallin by corner stoppage in the fifth round. His winning run now stands at three. Twenty-four of Joshua’s 27 career victories have come by knockout.
