During its annual awards luncheon on Sunday, Alabama football selected Jalen Milroe, Dallas Turner, and Malachi Moore its permanent captains for the 2023 campaign. Before the UA spring game the following season, those three players will have their hand and cleat prints permanently etched in concrete at Denny Chimes on campus.
A momentous evening for Milroe included the announcement of his captaincy. The quarterback for the Crimson Tide was also selected as the team’s MVP and most motivating member.
Turner and Kool-Aid McKinstry split the defensive player of the year honors for Alabama. Along with Chris Braswell, Caleb Downs, Deontae Lawson, and him, he led the team in tackles and points as an exceptional defensive player.
Moore, Roydell Williams, and Justin Eboigbe were awarded the Pat Trammel Award. Along with Robbie Ouzts, Damon Payne Jr., and Williams, he also received the President’s Award.
As the fourth seed, Alabama qualified for the College Football Playoffs, which were also announced on Sunday. In the Rose Bowl semifinal match on January 1, the Crimson Tide will take on Michigan.
