Jared Goff offers an interesting comparison between Lions and Rams fans.
Even though he has participated in a Super Bowl previously, Jared Goff is the buzz in Detroit these days.
When Goff saw footage of Detroit Red Wings supporters yelling his name during Thursday’s game, he responded with obvious flattery. He said on Friday that he had never gone through anything similar when playing for the Los Angeles Rams and that he enjoyed being a part of a community that “cares so much.”
According to Detroit Free Press reporter Jared Ramsey, Goff remarked, “It was pretty cool.” “Being a part of a city that cares so much is pretty fun.”
Regarding his tenure with the Rams, Goff continued, “It was not like this, no.” “These fans are incredible, but this is a little different—obviously the circumstances of it all kind of feed into that.”
This is more of a compliment to Lions supporters, who are on high following their team’s first NFC Championship berth since 1991, than it is a jab at Rams supporters. They can make history by going to the Super Bowl if they defeat San Francisco on Sunday.
When Goff was acquired by the Lions in the Matthew Stafford deal in 2021, he was considered a bridge quarterback. He is currently the talk of Detroit, and very soon he will be compensated handsomely.
