After reaching an agreement with Celtic to bring Postecoglou,57, to north London, Spurs held negotiations with him on Monday.

After considering Fulham head coach Marco Silva and Brighton boss Roberto De Zerbi, Postecoglou emerged as the favored candidate last week.

After Antonio Conte was fired in March, Postecoglou takes over as the permanent manager of Spurs. For the remainder of the season, Ryan Mason and Cristian Stellini took over as interim head coaches.

Postecoglou was persuaded to stay in Glasgow by Spurs’ offer, despite Celtic’s best efforts to keep the former Australia manager in Glasgow.
