Marcelino Garcia Toral has reiterated his claim that Olympique Marseille’s ultras’ involvement makes it “impossible” for anything to be built there.

The Asturian took over in Marseille over the summer, but he quit before playing in ten games due to threats made against club directors by ultras. Marcelino said that the state of affairs could not continue.

Marcelino stated in an interview with Diario AS that even though it was an amazing project at a large club, he felt unable to continue. In his management career, he said, he had never witnessed anything like it. He had to meet with ultras at the training ground where the players were and listen to their opinions.

The ultras problem is a complex one.

Due to the presence of the ultras at Olympique Marseille, Marcelino Garcia Toral has reiterated his claim that it is “impossible” to create anything there.

After receiving threats from ultras against club directors, the Asturian quit Marseille before he played ten games in his new role. Marcelino declared that the situation could not continue.

Marcelino stated that although it was an amazing project at a large club, he was unable to continue working on it in an interview with Diario AS. He acknowledged that, in his management history, he had never witnessed anything like it—having to meet with ultras at the training facility where the players were and hear their opinions.
