Goalkeeper Owen Goodman, who plays for Crystal Palace, produced two outstanding saves during Colchester United’s 1-1 draw with Mansfield Town in an EFL League Two matchup on Saturday.
A minute before the first half ended, the Anglo-Nigerian goalkeeper made an amazing save to keep Will Swan from giving Mansfield Town the lead again in a one-on-one situation.
In the 63rd minute, Lewis Brunt scored the equalizer goal for the home team, and he was powerless to stop it.
He produced a wonderful save with his fingertip in the 76th minute to prevent Swan from scoring with his header once more.
The 20-year-old earned the man-of-the-match honors for his effort, which may enhance Colchester United’s chances of making it through the end of the season.
With 34 points, the U’s are now one point ahead of Sutton United, who hold the first relegation slot, in the league rankings.
For the League Two team, Goodman has made 36 appearances in all competitions and has four clean sheets.
After his loan period expires at the end of the current campaign, he plans to return to Crystal Palace.
