very sad news: Ipswich town club points have been just deducted to 7.2points by the…..

Sheffield Town’s manager, Kieran McKenna, praised his team’s “relentless” effort from the opening minute to the end of their 6-0 thumping of Sheffield Wednesday. In addition to Nathan Broadhead and Cameron Burgess scoring goals, Omari Hutchinson and substitute Ali Al-Hamadi each scored braces as the Tractor Boys secured their greatest victory of the year.

Ipswich maintained pressure on Leeds United and Leicester City with the win. While the Foxes were playing Chelsea in the FA Cup, Daniel Farce’s team defeated Millwall 2-0 to take the lead.

McKenna stated: “I felt that every aspect of the game, from the very first to the very last, was a superb effort. We displayed the group’s identity, flair, and culture.”

Probably its relentlessness was the cause. We came into today really determined to give a performance first and foremost, not to think about the scoreline, the points, or anything like that. I think part of the football was outstanding, our pressing against a well-set-up team, but probably the way we kept going. At 3-0 sometimes the second half can be flat, and the game can fizzle out.
