More than a week has passed since the Italian’s explosive post-match news conference outburst following the 3-3 draw against Southampton, which led to his departure from Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. “We have ten Premier League games left, and we have a fight on our hands for a Champions League spot,” stated club chairman Daniel Levy in a statement.

“We must band together as a group. To secure the best outcome for our team and its incredible, devoted supporters, everyone must stand forward.”

Conte thanked people who ‘respected and shared’ his love of football in a social media post addressed to Spurs supporters. Football is passion, the Italian remarked in an Instagram post.

Ryan Mason and Cristian Stellini, Conte’s assistant, will be in command until the end of the current campaign. Stellini’s goal for managing ten games in the premier league is to get Spurs back into the Champions League the following year.

Given his relationship with Conte, Stellini’s selection as temporary head coach came as a bit of a surprise. Mason was supposed to lead until the end of the year, according to many.

Julian Nagelsmann, who left Bayern Munich last week, has surfaced as Conte’s possible replacement. The unexpected return of Mauricio Pochettino to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium has also been suggested, but the selection of the team’s new permanent manager may take some time.
