Arnaut Danjuma was made fun of daily by Everton “fanatic” Richarlison for his impromptu decision to choose Tottenham Hotspur over the Blues in January.
Danjuma’s status as a crucial addition who could have bolstered Frank Lampard’s struggling attacking group in the midst of the club’s early-year difficulties was about to be proven. However, when that mayhem led to Lampard’s demise, Danjuma chose to seize Spurs’ late interest.
There, he reunited with former Everton hero Richarlison. In the months that followed, the Brazilian attacker never missed a chance to remind Danjuma of what he had done to his beloved old club as they sat side by side in the dressing room. However, he disputes rumors that his transfer was so sophisticated that he was photographed wearing an Everton shirt.
Danjuma’s desire in Everton was further bolstered by those talks, which also provided the impetus for the winger to select Merseyside over Milan this summer. Danjuma said that Michael Keane’s incredible late equalizer during the teams’ match at Goodison Park was also helpful.

Prior to the start of the new campaign, Danjuma talked about his relationship with Richarlison at the team’s Finch Farm training facility. When asked if they had discussed Everton, he responded, “Of course,” to the ECHO. In the changing room, I was seated next him as well. He’s an Everton enthusiast. Every day, as I sat next to him, he reminded me. He would comment, “You know, it’s a beautiful club,” as he looked at me. He was really positive when I talked to him about Everton.
Danjuma did not feel the need to consult Richarlison when he heard of Everton’s rekindled interest in him at the beginning of the summer after returning to parent club Villarreal because the preparation had already been completed. “No, I didn’t have another conversation since the responses would be the same,” he stated. He seemed to be having a fantastic time here, which confirmed my suspicions.
