Heading line: Ipswich Town Goalkeeper Vaclav Hladky Maintains Focus on Promotion Campaign Amid New Contract Talks with……..

While contract negotiations are going on in the background, Vaclav Hladky, the goalkeeper for Ipswich Town, says he is still totally focused on the team’s promotion push.

For the majority of his first two seasons with the team, the Czech goalkeeper warmed up the bench, but Christian Walton’s preseason foot injury cleared the way for him to start the Championship campaign.

Hladky took the risk, and thanks to a run of clutch saves, some outstanding footwork, and a spotless season, Kieran McKenna’s team has managed to compete for back-to-back promotions despite the odds. It has been reported that Celtic is keen to bring the former St Mirren player back north of the border; however, Hladky’s representative said at the end of December that ‘the priority is to agree on an extension and advance to the Premier League’.

When asked about the current state of affairs, Hladky responded, “I’m not sure what else I can say. Of course, there are talks, but nothing has been accomplished thus far, and they may take some time.

It’s normal for a player to want to concentrate only on the next game while they’re in their “tunnel.” I have individuals around me that I have to deal with.

“This is without a doubt my best football season in terms of performances and the caliber of the competition.”Yes, I have had a good time in previous seasons, but this is Championship level, and I’m excited to contribute to the squad and show my abilities.

“I really enjoy being here, and Kieran is a dream manager for me.”

Hladky’s ability to function as an extra outfield player has been a major factor in keeping Walton off the squad. Players that bait the media and then maneuver out of the back to find a spare man are a staple of McKenna’s game.

It’s a risky approach that has paid off handsomely because of the training field’s continuous repetition. There have been some glitches, though. Last month, Town lost 3-0 against Preston after Sam Morsy was caught with the ball following a quick pass from Hladky.
