sad news: mike McDaniel Miami Dolphins head coach just suspended his two key players due to…..

Brian Flores, the head coach of Miami, was dismissed on Monday after the Dolphins defeated New England 33–24 to close the season.

Flores finished with a 24–25 record over three seasons, but he was unable to get his squad to the postseason.

The owner of the Dolphins, Stephen Ross, stated that he was dissatisfied with the lack of improvement he saw from his club in 2021, which struggled early on before almost making the playoffs despite a scorching seven-game winning streak.

As stated in a team statement, Dolphins owner Stephen Ross declared, “I made a decision today to part ways with Brian Flores.” “I found that important football organization dynamics weren’t operating at the level I wanted them to, and I thought that this decision was in the best interest of the Miami Dolphins after assessing where we are as a team and what we need to do moving ahead to better. We have a young, strong group, and I think we can improve significantly by 2022. I want to express my gratitude to Brian for his efforts and send him my best wishes for the future.More than anything, Monday’s revelation may have sprung from a power struggle. Flores’ firing effectively put an end to the palpable frustration and tension between Flores and general manager Chris Grier, according to NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport on Monday. Ross chose his head of player personnel over the coach his team had previously chosen to try and lead the Dolphins out of the darkness that marked the end of the Adam Gase era.

The firing came as a surprise, even with the previously disclosed circumstances. In 2019, Flores assumed leadership of a Dolphins squad that was undergoing significant change. Grier’s trade of first-round tackle Laremy Tunsil to Houston and first-round safety Minkah Fitzpatrick to Pittsburgh during Flores’ rookie season appeared to make the team’s road back to relevance even more arduous. After struggling as a freshman at tackle, Grier decided to use those picks on defensive back Noah Igbinoghene♿, another high pick who hasn’t lived up to his hype in his first two seasons, and tackle Austin Jackson, who went inside to guard in 2021.
