Breaking news: head coach of Philadelphia eagles just signed his resignation to leave…

Nick Sirianni returning as Philadelphia Eagles head coach in 2024, but for how much longer?

CBS Philadelphia – The jokes between general manager Howie Roseman and head coach Nick Sirianni of the Philadelphia Eagles vanished out of thin air. The two had stopped grinning and making crude jokes about each other’s remarks. Instead, they were speaking in a serious tone to one another. One of the largest late-season collapses in the 91-season history of the Eagles, who were only the second team in NFL history to finish 1-6 in their final seven games after a 10-1 start, was the consequence of losing six straight games to conclude a season.

Following the massive collapse, Sirianni’s employment situation was abruptly in jeopardy, and he had to convince owner Jeffrey Lurie of his suitability for the position before losing it.

While speaking on Wednesday at the NovaCare Complex, Sirianni stated, “You better believe I’m thinking how I reprove myself.” “Mr. Lurie, Howie, and this organization trusted me as a young coach to handle the job. I had to demonstrate to them that I could lead the organization in the way they requested, and I had to do so going forward.

The head coach is still in place, but there will be more significant changes coming among the coaches. even though his employment situation has changed from the previous year.

Roseman rightfully defended Sirianni by going to bat for him. Even with the collapse in the late season, Sirianni’s record is impressive.

“I’m not diminishing the 1-6 stretch at the end – [but] we were 26-5 over the last 31 games,” Roseman stated. “We played four times as many games as that throughout this period. In the National Football League, that is a difficult feat. It is difficult to locate a head coach with that kind of track record in this league.”

“I believe that with Nick, we were 33-11 at that point. We’ve qualified for the playoffs three times in a row. Once more, I’m not sitting here suggesting that finishing 1-6 is OK, but it is difficult to find someone who can handle those kinds of tasks.”
