As we start to move closer to the summer transfer window, the Gunners have now stepped up their pursuit of a new striker, having identified a number of big-name targets.
Arteta’s side have now started work on the signing of Sporting CP star Viktor Gyokeres, having requested a formal meeting with the agent of the Sweden international.
Talks have also been opened over a deal for Lille striker Jonathan David, whose availability on a free transfer could make him an attractive option this summer, while the Canadian has also been outscoring fellow target Benjamin Sesko this season.

Another target, who it could prove to be much more difficult to sign, is Newcastle United’s Alexander Isak, with the Magpies believed to be holding out for £120m for the striker, who helped lead them to their first major honour in 70 years in the EFL Cup.
However, there has now been a new update on Arsenal’s pursuit of Isak, with a report from Spain revealing the Swedish forward has now expressed his desire to move to the Emirates Stadium this summer.
