Sad News Triathletes and Ironman Coach Dan Lorang have just passed away Today after a terrible car crashed with.Coach to many of triathlon’s biggest stars Dan Lorang is set to take on a new expanded role with Red Bull in the 2026 season.

 

The 45-year-old Luxembourger currently heads the Red Bull – BORA – hansgrohe coaching team and in his new role will continue to coach some individual riders from the German UCI WorldTeam.

 

He also works with a number of top triathletes, including multiple IRONMAN 70.3 World Champion Taylor Knibb, 2023 IRONMAN World Champion Lucy Charles-Barclay and 2019 IRONMAN World Championship victor Anne Haug.

In his new role, Lorang will impart his wisdom to Red Bull athletes across all endurance sports.

 

“Nine years ago, Ralph Denk gave me the opportunity to become part of an incredibly exciting project. During this time, I had the privilege of celebrating many successes with the team but also experiencing setbacks together,” explained Lorang in a press release.

 

“In my various roles, I have always felt the team’s trust and appreciation – something I am truly grateful for. That’s why I am even more excited to remain connected to the team in the future while also continuing to pursue my passion for coaching within the Red Bull universe.

 

“This will allow me to support not only cyclists but also athletes from other sports on their path to success.”

 

 

Setting the benchmark

Red Bull – BORA – hansgrohe founder and manager Ralph Denk added: “Synergies are not a one-way street. We use the enormous knowledge of Red Bull to make the leap to the top, and vice versa, other units and athletes develop with our know-how.
