The owner of a paddleboard tour company has been charged in connection with the death of four people following an incident in 2021.
Nerys Bethan Lloyd, 39, from Aberavon, has been charged with four counts of gross negligence manslaughter and one offence under the Health and Safety at Work Act.
Paul O’Dwyer, Andrea Powell, Morgan Rogers and Nicola Wheatley died during an incident River Cleddau, Pembrokeshire on the Ron 30 October 2021.
Ms Lloyd, who owns Salty Dog – the company operating the tour during which the death’s occurred – will appear at Haverfordwest Magistrates’ Court on 3 December.
There were four other survivors of the incident.
Det Supt Cameron Ritchie, senior investigating officer of Dyfed-Powys Police, said the charges were made following a “lengthy investigation”.
“The families of those who died and those who survived the incident have all been informed.
“As criminal proceedings are now underway it is important that there is no reporting, commentary or online posting that could prejudice this case.”
